Chicago Irish For Palestine 1 Year Anniversary
Please join Chicago Irish for Palestine as we gather to celebrate our one-year anniversary! Created just before the 2024 DNC, Chicago Irish for Palestine has since been very busy in the Chicago organizing scene. Whether it be organizing fundraisers, hosting teach-ins, planning our own actions, or building coalitions with our allies, Chicago Irish is a very active and steadily growing organization. So please join us on Saturday, September 6th, as we celebrate our one-year anniversary at the place where it all began: @nabalacafe .
Please join us at 6 and stick around for our jam session at 7! We will be selling t-shirts and pins at this event to raise money for the Mahmoud family in Gaza. If you would like to donate separately, please do so at the link in our bio!
We hope to see you there! Errinn go Brách🇮🇪! Saoirse don Phalaistín

Live Music w/David Rovics and Scott Free
Join us next Sunday August 31 at Nabala Cafe for a performance from @davidrovics and Scott Free!
David Rovics is a songwriter, musician, writer and podcaster based in Portland, Oregon. Since the 1990’s, David has been touring regularly throughout North America, Europe, and occasionally elsewhere, playing on stages large and small, at protests and festivals as well as in squatted social centers and folk clubs. He has recorded dozens of albums and has millions of his songs streamed every year. His writing and podcasting can be found on Substack and other platforms. David also plays music for kids.
Scott Free is a singer/songwriter, producer, and anti-imperialist activist. He has released six solo albums, and an LGBT family album by his group The Diesel Tykes. He has released two original cast albums of his musicals, Zombie Bathhouse and Witches Among Us, and will soon release his third, for his musical House Musical. Scott was a producer in the original House Music scene in Chicago, was part of the 90’s Chicago queercore scene, and had a rap video on BET. He produced the annual Queer Is Folk/Alt Q Folk Festival at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago from 2000 to 2012, and an LGBT music and spoken word performance series Homolatte for 20 years in Chicago. He runs an indie queer radio station called AltQ Radio on Live365.
