We’re gathering for a night where portraiture, memory work, and music meet—celebrating the ways Palestinians carry land, story, and belonging across distance, featuring Iman’s More Than A Number Exhibition. DJ Nanoos will bring the soundtrack; you bring your presence.

Come for the art, stay for the music, and leave as part of the archive—community portraits will be happening all night. Chicago holds many homes; let’s document one together.

We’re back! Come through for the December rendition of the radical writers’ cafe.

In times like these, we need bold visions to move us forward. Step into your creative power with other like-minded folks at this writers’ cafe. We’ll be doing a prompted writing session together, discussing our ideas, and offering each other feedback if desired.

Writers of all levels are encouraged to come participate. Feel free to write poems, scripts, essays, speeches, stream-of-consciousness, or whatever you desire. Bring your notebook, laptop, or whatever you like to write on.

Join us for a poetry writing workshop followed by an open mic night! The workshop will start with short, generative writing prompts, then transition to reading a poem as a group that will guide our writing for the hour. The second hour will be an open mic where you can share the work you produced in the workshop or any other poems you've been working on!

Sign-ups for the open mic are first-come-first-serve at the door and will be capped to ensure everyone who signs up gets a chance to perform. Beginner friendly--no poetry experience required and all are welcome!
