From Palestine to Chicago

Based in the heart of Uptown Chicago, Nabala Cafe offers community, cozy vibes, and delicious drinks and food for anyone stopping in. We are committed to always being a third space for Palestinians and marginalized people across Chicago and helping build stronger communities.

We are named after Bayt Nabala, a village in Palestine that was stolen and destroyed in 1948. All of the nearly 3,000 inhabitants were displaced, making them just a small fraction of the 750,000+ people from hundreds of villages whose lives were turned upside down by the Nakba of 1948.

The people of Bayt Nabala stuck together and remained strong. Today, while we’re scattered across the world, the culture and heritage lives on. It’s a testament to the resilience of the Palestinian people, and now we’re bringing the energy of that tight knit community to Uptown Chicago. Stop by and experience it yourself!
